Er volgde een gigantisch bloedige strijd met meer dan een miljoen slachtoffers aan beide zijden. Gevechtseenheden vanuit het gehele Britse rijk werden ingeschakeld. Deze film vertelt het verhaal van de Canadezen die in deze hel terechtkwamen.
